Author Daniel de Visé discusses The Comeback, the story of Greg LeMond and the legendary '89 Tour. Greg was Lance Armstrong before Lance Armstrong. He grew up in Reno and came out of the Northern California cycling circuit to stage an improbable conquest of European cycling and, later, a miraculous comeback from near-death to win the closest Tour de France in history. LeMond ranks among the great U.S. athletes of the past century. Yet, the meteoric rise (and catastrophic fall) of Lance Armstrong left him all but forgotten. Come learn about this hero of the Reno Wheelmen. Likely attendees include Greg's Reno family, master bicycle craftsman Roland Della Santa, and Cliff Young, Greg's first training partner.
