About Janet:
It is time to celebrate this amazing woman who gave this community so much. We have a trail that we can take all the way to Tahoe City and with a few hops and jumps, to Pyramid Lake.
We have discussed her tenacity and perseverance in accomplishing all that she did. But did you know she was an amazing tennis player? She loved the theater and supported the local art scene. She traveled the world hiking and biking and while on those vacations, was constantly scouring their trails to find new ways to improve the TPT. She also had a wide array of friends that she kept in touch with from SoCal where she grew up and friends from Stanford College, where she graduated from. She was also Reno-Sparks Citizen of the Year in 2019. She was a great philanthropist helping other organizations that are connected to the Truckee River Basin.
She loved ice cream, no matter what time of the day it was. While riding her bike, if there was an ice cream shop close by, according to her GPS system, the route took a detour, even if it meant riding back in the dark. That’s one of my favorite memories of recent years…
