Another climbers delight this Saturday, 3 climbs for 52 miles and 3850’ of climbing. Plan to MEET at the Squaw Valley-Palisades parking lot at 8:30 am for a 9:00 am rollout. Use your “Garmin” to find the ride start, or contact us directly and we can send a location pin (the vagaries of Strava demand a street address, which doesn’t really exist here). Ride Leaders will be in a dark gray, Toyota Tacoma with a bike rack on the back.
We’ll start at Squaw Valley / Palisades for a few mellow miles, then climb to Alpine Meadows, descend and cruise to the west shore of Lake Tahoe and head south to the biggest climb up Blackwood Canyon, then back north along the lake to climb and descend Ward Canyon before returning to Palisades (Bailout option here to skip the climb and ride directly back to Palisades). Along the upper Truckee and Lake Tahoe, we’ll evaluate the traffic and ride the nice bike paths if traffic is heavy.
